sup all, iam new to this site and forum thing
i need some help withg my ram, its saying when i boot up 333mhz, but i know thats not ture, it should be at 400mhz, its apacer 3200 2x512mb, is there something wrong with my bios maybe reading the ram wrong or does my bios need to be up dated, my board and bios is msi 6741 v1.0, bios ami 3.31a thnaks if someone could help me out
this is the comp i have
amd 64 3200+ 2.0ghz
1024 ddr400 3200 apacer ram
6600gt oc agp
160gb hitachi 7200rpm
sb's live
enermax 460watt
2 sony dvd roms one a dvd burner

http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/down...?UID=624&kind=1also , are you comfortable with going into bios and having a look ? that way we could clarify if this may be a hardware defect or the clock speed is just set to lower than what you require.

ok thanks for the link, but it doesnt really help me, i know in my bios, i have a setting from 266 to 400, with 2 options to auto or limit, auto says 333, and when i set it manualy to 400, then when i boot up agian it says 333mhz, dont make sense its pc3200 ram, it has to be ddr 400 or ddr sdram

i was thinking, maybe my bios needs to be updated, would that have anything to do with me ram problem, i think it says 2003, i more thing lol, is there anyway i can unlock my bios options, cause i only get a few ram options and thats it, no timing settings nothing to adjust my ram, i click on the link u gave me, downloaded, the manaul for my board, i surpirse to see a pic of my bios with the same eacty version, with extra ram setting, where in hell is mine lol, i hate msi, thanks if u could help me out

If an updated BIOS software is supposed to solve that problem, they explicitly mention that.

Things about FSB are so confusing on the web. Just look at the table
Here to get more confused. As DDR uses the multiplied FSB speed, we can conclude that to use a DDR 400 , u need to set FSB to 200!
