i recently gave a friend a pc which worked fine, when she started it up everything worked ok apart from she couldnt log onto the internet. she loaded the new software that came from her internet provider but says that when she tries to log on a message pops up with a picture on it of a tv screen a cable with a cross through it. i have never seen this before :

What provider did the CD belong to? AOL for example have their own software for accessing the Internet and the error you described could be caused by a misconfiguration of their software.
