Full Version: Error when closing Internet Explorer

amoretto
This problem has only started to occur recently. Most of the time when I close IE, I get this message. iexplore.exe - Application Error The instruction at "0x100097a0" referenced memory at "0x100097a0". The memory could not be read. Click ok to terminate the program. Does anyone know what can be causing this? My specs are AMD Athlon 2100, 512MB PC 2700, Windows XP Pro SP2. I was told that SP2 could be the cause but like I said, this problem only started happening the other day. I only software program I remembered installing prior to this message was AOL, but I uninstalled it but to no avail. I also ran a virus scan and checked for spyware with Ad-Aware.

I would reccomend looking at the following thread:

And working through some of the stuff there. Ignore the things about DEP and the AMD Athlon 64 - as you're not running one!
