Hey guys. I just flashed the BIOS on my motherboard to the current revision. The following is the specifications of the computer -

Abit NF7 Motherboard
AMD Athlon 2500+
512 MB PC-3300 RAM (Not sure if thats the right version)
80GB IBM Deskstar HDD
Nvidia GeForce 5200FX

I was updating the BIOS using Abit's Windows based FlashMenu software going from NF7 revision 17 to the current version. The flash was successfull and then I went to restart the computer and it doesn't boot up at all. Everything turns on (MB, HDD etc..) but nothing shows up on the screen and I don't hear a system beep at all.

I've tried clearing the CMOS through jumper and battery removal but nothing seems to help. Any suggestions? Thanks!

i would say that you flashed your BIOS incorrectly. sad.gif
That or theres a short somewhere, but since it lights up, then thats probably not the case.
Also, for a really really extreme case, your accidently unplugged your system speaker and your monitor cable isnt connected correctly or your graphics card isnt in all the way. (but that's not likely)

Is it possible that the new BIOS software is not compatible with one of ur hardwares?
Did u add any new hardware just when u updated BIOS?

Yep, I'd say it's likely to be a conflict with an existing hardware, unless the firmware was for some reason corrupt.
