Full Version: Drunk employee kills the Internet

This post is the full works: The title is ripped from Digg, readers are disputing its authenticity and SF residents are screaming left, right and center that a major power outage is to blame, not a drunk guy, for the downing of several major sites including Craigslist and LiveJournal. But I'm still not convinced. I still think the following quote by a source close to the company that runs the affected data center is reasonable:

QUOTE
Someone came in sh**faced drunk, got angry, went berserk, and fu**ed up a lot of stuff. There's an outage on 40 or so racks at minimum.

I mean that seems like a very plausable explanation, don't you agree?

just believe any random crap anyone wrote in? Because I'm voting for "gremlins" if that's the case. That, or Death Eaters in honor of the Potterdammerung.

It's funny how the controversy over if it was a drunk guy or a power failure is taking up headlines while all the stuff that actually can affect us goes unnoticed.

(But I'd still rather see the drunk guy excuse win :-)
