Full Version: IPTC keyword wants , but I can only use ;

Been away for awhile and stopped using Zenith a few years ago. Came back to it this week because of some newer features mainly the IPTC info import.

I'm having a problem with Zenith only getting the first keyword because of my photo program (picasa and exif editor).

Zenith is looking for a , between the keywords and my photo programs put a ; between them.

Is there a way to tell Zenith to look for the ; and not the , between keywords?

Thanks

Hi domc,

Good to see you posting again. IPTC support is available thanks to the PHP JPEG Metadata Toolkit. I suspect you'll have to modify something in the function get_jpeg_header_data in lib\jpeg_metadata_toolkit\JPEG.php to get it to work the way you want.

Could you maybe drop the toolkit's author an email and see what he thinks and then let me know if you continue to have problems or if he doesn't reply?

Well, I left an email with no response. Wish I new PHP well enough to look for the change. I'm going to take another look.

Still no reply from the author? I'll take a look at it for you if that's the case.

Yeah, still no answer. I reinstalled Zenith again thinking I screwed something up with my edits and still no go. Oh well....

Thanks for looking into this. It's the one thing keeping me back from a full install. Been waiting. <grin>

By the way, here is a photo with IPTC keywords (7 of them) and description exported from googles picasa album program.
Hopefully this forum software does not strip the IPTC.

Thanks, just got back from my vacation so I'll take a look at it for you today or tomorrow.

Thanks... I have found a work around in that you can just make a one word keyword like "BeachSandSky" . Only reason I like the keywords is that they are searchable. Is is true that searching within Zenith only searches the keywords and not description?

Glad you managed to find a workaround. Sorry for not sticking to my promise.

Sure, you can tell the script to search descriptions too. Take a look at this: http://cyberiapc.com/forums/index.php?s=&a...ost&p=43081

Hope that helps
