Hello everyone I hope all is well!
I will just get right into it, I know theres someone around here that can help! So i recently moved out with my friend into a little two bedroom house. We contacted our trusty ISP, bought internet service, i declined to buy the wireless internet for an extra 3$ a month because i knew i would be getting a wireless router eventually. My mother was able to get her hands on a Linksys WAP54G Access Point. I hooked it up to the router i received from my ISP, restarted everything, and BOOM wireless internet! Hallelujah, so i thought! Okay so everything is going well, were using the internet and enjoying our new house. So my girlfriend brings over her laptop and i proceed to set up the connection, type in the WAP key and i can only get a "local" connection. I keep trying and keep trying but its only local connection. So heres whats going on, one laptop is connected via wireless and can access the internet fine. I try to connect laptop 2 and it only obtains a "local" connection, i run "ipconfig" and receive and error saying it "Cannot contact the DHCP server" Laptop 1, with the internet connection, i run "ipconfig" and the address i get will not open up the Web Utility in my browser, nor when i try to type the default Linksys IP. I can only update the firmware from the web utility. So not-so obviously there is some kind of conflict. Thank you so much to anyone reading this or who can help!! Everyone take care and enjoy yourselves!

Hey everyone, its been a while since ive been on here. I hope everyone is doing well! I do occasionally go to the arcade haha
My question is about modding my pc case. I plan on cutting a window and painting the case itself. My question concerns the window. I've seen online how people will but colored, or clear, plexiglass for the case window; but my case has vents in the side of it. It is an emachines computer with a generic emachines case. I was wondering if i did place the plexiglass inside the window, would i be risking my case overheating? If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated. I've always gotten help to any problem ive ever had so i figured this would be the place to go!! Thanks, Piper

Here i am again with some more problems haha, i installed ubuntu because i had never used linux before. I installed it on a Seagate external hard drive. Now, whenever have the hard drive in it will boot to ubuntu, i would use ubuntu but it does not support my belkin wireless usb adapter, i just select windows from the Boot screen. Whenever i do not have the hard drive connected to my pc, i cannot boot anything, i believe the error says GRUB 1.5 loading, Error 5. Now i have been searching the internet but i have not came across anything dealing with the removal of linux from an external hard drive, so i decided i would ask you guys...
anyone have an idea? thanks, piper

Windows detected spyware in my system then McAfee started up with trojans. now my computer will not load the explorer.exe and whenever i manually go into the tast manager and try to load explorer.exe it just loads my documents. I have no idea, i tried a system restore but my computer froze during the "Logging Off" screen. What do you guys think? Should i just let my system take its time with the Logging Off screen?
Sorry about that, i did a system restore while i wasnt in safe mode and it worked fine. Sorry for the thread. |
