Hi, had a probably a few weeks back with my sound port not working on my laptop, solved that thanks to your help here and got myself a USB adapter for it and it now works fine. But now I'm having problems actually charging the laptop, I know the power lead and adapter are working as I have tried it on a similar model and it charges the laptop, so its the actual female port on the laptop itself that fails to be conducting the power from the lead. Any ideas on how to sort this one? I guess its a job for a technician, any ideas if thats worth doing cost wise? Be in so its falling apart at the seems I might just bite the bullet and get a brand new one.
Cheers.

Hello, I do a lot of travelling with my laptop and watch a lot of movies on it, due to a bit of overuse I guess the socket is now knackered and I cannot get any sound from it, I can get sound from the actual laptop but the headphone port itself no longer produces sound. Is a replacement a simple enough procedure? how much would I be looking at to get it replaced if I take it to a shop roughly? If anyone has any ideas I'd be glad to hear from you.
Cheers, Dan.

Just went to log into Windows XP under my username and I was presented with my normal wallpaper and nothing else but a dialog box stating 'Userinit.exe - Application Error' as the main heading then just below that 'The application failed to initialize properly (0x0000142) click ok to terminate the application'
This comes up everytime without fail and I cannot access anything what so ever. So at the moment I am logged in as 'GUEST' but have no access to my files. Any ideas what has happend here and how one could resolve it? Thanks for looking, Dan.

HI there,
I wonder if anybody knows if there is a way or a program that will enable me to select all of my favourite wallpaper pictures so that everytime I reboot my system I am presented with one of the different wallpapers at random on my desktop. If anybody has any ideas I would be most grateful for your input. Many thanks, Dan.

Currently undergoing some serious problems on my laptop, have been trying to battle it for the past week by myself but am not really getting to far.
I use Avast and it is constantly finding Trojan horses, predominantly one called Win32:Monder ET along with various pop ups whilst surfing the net. I've ran SDFix but this still hasnt resolved the issue and now my system is running very very slowly with a process in my task manager called Isass.exe using up most of the computers CPU. If anyone has any idea as to how I can ride my system of this evil your help would be really appreciated, I'm pulling my hair out on this one! Many Thanks, Dan. |
