Hi. Last night i tried to reinstall windows xp pro on my western digital raptors which I have striped. Well I fed XP the appropriate drivers during the text-based installation and when I had to choose which drive i wanted to install XP on it came up as two 70GB hdd's instead of one 140GB hdd. I dont know if this is normal. After it completed installing from the text portion (no complaints mind you) and it restarted, i got an error saying "Error Loading Operating System". But this wasn't from Windows XP but from my motherboard(?). What are some possibilities to fix this? Or perhaps revert to the bios that came with my mobo when I first ordered a couple years ago (or year and a half, can't remember)?

Hi. I am using Gentoo Linux on my HP dv8000z laptop. It's currently having some problems with emerge some utilities like nautilus, bitchx and a couple others. Also it won't compile nachos. (A pseudo-operating system I'm using in a class). So i'm thinking i'm missing some packages or what not. But I was wondering if anyone can recommend anything else to me to replace Gentoo or if anyone knows what I can do to perfect my system. Thanks for your help. If you need more info let me know.

Hi. At work we have a program running that lets us manage restaurant tables among things. The way to get back into the desktop is to quit the program because the program runs in full screen not in a window. But if you hit the windows key the start menu will pop-up and you can navigate the computer that way. Is there any way to disable the windows key so not just anyone can navigate while at work?

Hey everyone, I'm thinking about getting an HDTV in January, Plasma specifically. Can anyone recommend a good one in the range of about $1500?

Hi. I've been trying to enable Windows XP Scandisk. I found out that going into my computer -> right click on C: -> click on properties -> Tools Tab -> Under Error-Checking click on Check Now Button -> then check both disk options. Well it asks me to restart my computer before it can check so I do. Then as windows loads up it goes to a screen where it tries to check but it says it cannot open direct access to disk then finishes and continues to load into Windows. How can I disable this or actually have it go through?
