When I turn on the computer (without the boot-legged copy of the win98 start-up floppy), I get the 'Blue screen of death'. It will only run in mos -mode, I cannot even get into 'Safe-mode'. What I need is somehow to down load (via internet) to a floppy or cd-rw, a program to wipe the hard drive clean, then another cd to install win98se. I cannot find anybody who has a win 98 or 98se I can borrow, and even though the Packard -Bell has upgraded memory, I doubt if anything larger than win 98se would fit. I am using my lady friends computer on LAN, so I can download to floppy or cd., But I guess what I really need is someone to send me the files and whatnot so I can put them on a cd and get the @#$&**()_ thing going again, any suggestions would be appreciated, any any email will be answered, Thanks people, I appreciate the help. Carl

O.k. computers wizards, I had an older model Packard Bell which had win 95 originally, but was beefed up and win 98se installed. There was an E-Z restore listed in the control panel section. Well, the first couple times it worked fine, restored to original congifuration of 98se, but on the 3rd. time I didn't notice that the highlighted bar had moved to win 95. Yup, you guessed it, I have nothing but Mos-dos.and an antiquated win98 start-up floppy, (and a large white boat anchor). I'm a 48 year old disabled Marine, whose fun is limited to a few beers, and some internet friends. Does anyone know how I can drop everything on the hard drive, and then get win 98se from a link and reinstall it via floppy disk? :'( :'( :'( , if you have a resonable solution, other than shoplifting, please e-me at email@example.com, I'm using a borrowed computer now, so I can use floppy and it has a cd-rewriter on it., but my lady friend will want her p.c. back when she gets back from vacation, anybody care to help me? Thanks, Carl
