Well guys, it's the end of another year. To the long-time members of CyberiaPC.com I say thanks for all your contributions and work. To the members who've disappeared, I hope you find your way back. And to the new members, we're looking forward to learning from you.

Since I'll be free of academic burden during these few weeks, I'd like to overhaul the website and update or get rid of sections and code that has been up since the year 2000. Many of the sections use a shameless mixture of CSS and deprecated HTML tags, so that needs to be fixed. Other sections contain content that needs serious updating (e.g. this). I've temporarily taken down the programming tutorials.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions, comments or interesting ideas. Also, and as always, if you spot a technical mistake in any part of the website, please let me know so that it can be corrected.

Finally, Happy Christmas to everyone.

I'd like to welcome contacts.php and about.php to the world of XHTML.

Two pages in one day; that's how dirty some of the site's underlying code actually is!

The real reason for posting this is to share with you two things I learned in the process:

Problem: The W3C's validator didn't like 'target' attributes
Solution: Used the JavaScript solution suggested at http://www.sitepoint.com/article/standards-compliant-world/3

Problem: The XHTML validator didn't like some of the JavaScript used by the site's menu bar.
Solution: Used the solution suggested at http://javascript.about.com/library/blxhtml.htm
