no, whats revolutionary about the PSP is in fact its graphics
its amazing, nothing even comes close. the reason its so revolutionary is because its such a great stride forward. not little baby steps such as DS, this is huge leap -------------------- ![]() |

QUOTE(Renzoblade @ May 27 2005, 01:35 PM) on topic E3 2005: Killzone for PS3 - exclusive Q&A Is the Killzone sequence a fair example of what people can expect from realtime gameplay on PlayStation 3? Jan-Bart: Yeah, it's basically a representation of the look and feel of the game we're trying to make. Well, I think that says it all... this Killzone Demo IS NOT what players will see running on the hardware in realtime, this is merely an example of the 'look and feel'. Yet another example of Sony using unrealistic 'pre-rendered' sequences or images for marketing purposes. Typical. |

The Kill Zone 2 trailer is CGI, I thought that was fairly obvious.

QUOTE(Renzoblade @ May 29 2005, 12:53 AM) Really? The new handhelds really dissapoint me, there is a single game out there that really makes me want to play them. Looks like I'll have to wait for Trace memory. Other games on handhelds just don't seem all that appealing. -------------------- |

QUOTE(SaberGun @ Jun 5 2005, 05:12 AM) Finally, the truth of the matter. PSP is nothing more than another willy extension for money-worshippers and techno-elitests. Yes, the screen is gorgeous, yes it has 3d graphics nearly on a par with ps2 but WHERE ARE THE KILLER GAMES? I agree with glitch, none of the new handhelds are offering any games that i really want to play (or at the very least pay for). The fact that Renzo and others like him (I'm not trying to pick on you Renzo) are so quick to start spouting useless technical mumbo jumbo (X GFLOPS, etc,) when someone states that they don't like PS2 is a testament to Sony's marketing power. Am I not allowed to not like PS2? This post has been edited by benneth: Jun 19 2005, 02:27 PM |

thats besides the point,on t.v ( in aus ) they gave a psp and ds to kids and all the kids said
* i like the psp more coz i can play movies and listen to Mp3 and play games with great graphics * the only thing that was on the ds was some crummy Pictochat,Wow u can write out crap on screen, big deal, the psp has Killer Apps with Gran turismo,Killzone ( third person on psp ) , Grand theft auto LS. The only downside is that the psp costs double of the DS, the psp has alot more potential to go further and last longer in the Handheld market. ON TOPIC. Killzone 2 , everyones saying its gonna be on ps2 and Killzone 3 on ps3,with all the money Guirilla put into the Killzone Engine,u would think they would atleast make another game on ps2,Hope thats true. Plus theres a Killzone Game comming on psp, rumoured to be a third person tittle to rival Socom. |

Kids buy whatever is "cool" and admittedly the PSP does look cool. No killer apps on PSP as of yet, they will take a while. The DS has much better games e.g Advance Wars, Metroid Prime hunetrs and Mario Kart (ONLINE!!!). Nearly every good game on PSP is avaliable on the PS2. Would you really sacrifice graphics, sound and overall playability for portability? I wouldn't. I wouldn't watch movies on PSP outside of the house either, thats just asking to get mugged. I could do with some form of MP3 player. On topic: The original KillZone has many flaws. I'm hoping for much more consistent graphics, consistent framate and some decent A.I. I don't see that happening on the PSP version. -------------------- |

the original killzone is great,i was reading how the a.i works in the game not long ago aswell, no noticable flaws to most of the killzone comune since the game is so great, offline and online. It was underrated by Halo Fanboys since halo 2 sucked offline and killzone was a much higher quality game.
its all about what games u like, personally mario is getting tiresome, expect mario kart, mario golf and that useless mario party, mario tennis and so on,nothing inoative there,PSP has much better games, Wipout Pure is a killer App,and theres much more, imagine going on a long road trip,u can just get out your psp and watch a movie,DS brings nothing new except for the Duel Screen. Mario Kart is boring, the only good thing is Metroid Prime since im a fan of the series. |

I played the original Killzone for about an hour and noticed quite a few flaws. Namely the A.I. There lack of cover taking and they just running along in lines. In a word the A.I. in Killzone is terrible. The framrate drops constantly and sometimes for no apparrent reasons. Also the graphics also flicker quite a bit. I'm not saying it's a terrible game, but it's far from perfect.
Wipeout is the best PSP game, I highly doubt it. Lumines is amazing. I played Wipeout Pure (granted, not for very long) but i didn't see anything really special about it. Mario Kart boring? THE biggest oxymoron of them all. There are many sequels to mario kart for a reason, the game rocks. Would they really bother with so many of them otherwise? -------------------- |

lol coz its all nintendo got to appeal to the younger market with a known franchise, all Mario Games, its nothing new,i love mario ill admit that since it was my very first games,Dr.Mario and Super Mario Bros 3,and i own Mario Sunshine on Gamecube and Mario Cart on GBA,its the same old same old, every magazine says it to,they need originality or else the revolution is gonna fail early just like the cube did. and for the killzone A.I , u didnt play long enough, the A.I always takes cover, near walls they put their back to the wall and fire and hide again, maybe u played on easy or something and i rarely never see the frame rate drop,4 years in development
the graphics engine is very strong,i only noticed a few frame drops in multiplayer in a 7v7. Its been said a thousand times before,u cant keep recycling the same overs over and over, Mario Party what,1,2,3,4,5,6 or something only square-Enix can do that with the productional value or the final fantasy games.,plus gamers have matured,u would never see a 25 yr old walk into a shop and buy a DS and Gamecube with Mario Games, thats where sony and microsoft advance, only nintendo fanboys will say the same thing,Mario Kart rules when nintendo need to bring something different. |

Nintendo doesn't have to appeal to the younger audience, but if they do then anyone can buy the game. Nintendo has made games for the older gamers before with games like Metroid Prime and Geist. They just usually tell other companies (like Capcom) to make older games for their console.
Originality in the revolution? Well, I'm hoping they call it "revolution" for a reason. I think you're giving it more credit than it deserves. Killzone the best FPS ever? Try Perfect Dark. -------------------- |

i love perfect dark on the 64,so many hours played there in multiplayer but i like killzone more,i got really hooked on it.
http://www.acegamez.co.uk/Killzone_PS2.htm ^ that site tells abit about it Capcom was making those Gamecube " special 5 " , 2 got cancelled and the rest ended up on ps2 coz of poor gamecube sales, resident evil 4 has more weapons and a extra level on the ps2 version and in Viewtfull Joe Dante made it on sonys console,i was waiting so long for Killer7 on the cube but alot of sites said it was crap but ill play it for myself, now that its on ps2 ill get the ps2 version since i prefere the controlls. Nintendo has always had that image of the " fun console " thats aimed at kids with colourfull games and such, like Zelda:the wind wacker,Pokemon and others and to the casual gamer that just dont appeal. Like i posted in PC and Console Games http://cyberiapc.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=8028 And Revolution not as powerfull as both Ps3 and Xbox360,and nintendo saying that themselfs at E3,will that put gamers off their console, i dont really see what the revolution brings besides A-Grade First Party Games Like the usuall. ill be getting a revolution since its going to be cost effective and i wanna play metroid prime, but without a new standard of true-to-life physic that made games like Half life 2 really good that the ps3 can only handle, then what O_O. |
