I just installed a wireless router and put a wireless pci card in my computer. do I need a firewall because I heard the router acts as one but I am not sure.

If your router has a built in firewall you really don't need a software firewall on your computer (although it is a good idea to enable Windows Firewall). To make sure your firewall is enabled enter your router configuration pages, move to the FireWall section, and click enable. If you don't have one built into your router and you are on an always-on connection you should have some sort of soft firewall installed on each computer or you are at serious risk being connected to the internet.

Hello Sir, I don't think you need a new firewall for a router acts one. It filters incoming data packets hope this help thanks!
