ME has a big problem...not restart in ms dos mode on the shutdown menu this may helphttp://mvps.org/dts/WinME_DOS/Win-ME.htm

This is a really great tip! Windows ME's lack of a real DOS environment makes it difficult to troubleshoot problems the old way (you know, restart in DOS and do everything from there).
