Hey i was wondering if anyone could help me out with this:
I want....well need a bigger hard drive, so i want to basically get a really large one and have it as my C drive, and have my current C drive become D, and have my current D drive become E. So i want to know how easy this will be to do? if you know what i mean, you know, what stuff to do to each hard drive, ie master slave etc. Thanks for any help This post has been edited by harriw: Aug 13 2004, 11:22 PM -------------------- ![]() ![]() ^ Cant Post ^![]() |

I'm surprised you're even going to get a bigger HDD. I have an 80 and a 20 and I'm set. I use my 80 for windows and everything else and my 20 as a temporary downloads folder. You could try a form of Raid where it just considers all HDD's as one. The only problem with this is that every HDD takes on characteristics of the weakest, which wouldn't be a problem if every HDD is the same. Now, back to your last question, why not just get a 100G or 120G drive. The size of the drive is pretty much based on your personal preference and what you're doing.

i would recommend a 160 GB western digital or seagate barracuda drive. they are both great and you probably wont need anything more than 280GB any time soon (160+80+60)
if you are looking at performance get an 74GB western digital raptop serial ata 10000rpm they are really fast, i shuolda got those for my comp yes its easy to install i tried it a few times. get the master and slave correct and make sure the bios detects the dives ('auto' setting is mostly always fine) yep and thats it. -------------------- |
