Yep, hate this, my geforce 6200 256mb card, resets my pc everytime I try play a game, Doom 3 used to work fine, 2 months latter i reinstalled, it was loading when i clicked new game, then bang,pc restarted, just shut off.

The card is only around 3 months new, is it already dieing or is this a driver thing, because I have a fresh windows install, and the latest drivers from Nvidia are installed.

Even in the settings for my card, it has settings for doom 3, i tried those to...didnt work.

Out of the 8 pc games I got, NONE work now, they either glitch hard or the pc restarts.

i guess for a video overheating you get a frozen screen & for a cpu frying you get a shutdown / restart.

i tried the pc in safe mode, and one of my games actually played lol, so i went back and ran dxdiag, and i experimented, i turned off AGP Texture Accelaration, and DAMN, Urbersoldier launched and loaded, clicking new game didnt reset the pc, but during a cut scene, froze and i had to turn off the pc manually lol, so that went no where, but i was amazed strengh & honour played for awhile with AGP T.A off, but then i tried again..and pc restarted.

I turned off auto restart after failure and got this blue screen.

Also a side shot of my pc

( the dust in the side fan is GONE lol ) , my pc is always at a low temp.

Hi,
I think you will find it a RAM or driver problem, make sure ram is seated correctly, if your ram is ok and not faulty, then it is definitely a driver issue.
I had a problem with a sound card driver, I downloaded then bought driver detective, it found all the correct and up to date drivers for me, you can look at the trial vers first.
Look here for driver detective

In device manager,i installed my tv tuner, and some question marks disapeared, so theres nothing that needs fixing in device manager, but with driver detective, still the same problems.

Hi,
When my sound would not work, there were no yellow exclamation marks in my device manager, it only worked when the driver was updated, I am not sure but I think it was something to do with sp2. when you buy driver detective, you only pay once, all the drivers are then free. mine still shows some red marked for the drivers but they work, like my mouse and keyboard so I have not updated those. have you tried uninstalling you video card then reinstalling it, sometimes that works.

oh ok, cool, thanks for the help, today while taking out my ram, the pc wouldent turn on, power would turn on but no display on the monitor, so i made some calls, then i was told take the graphics card out,and bam, works, and my games work, so it looks like its a faulty AGP port, which makes my 6200 which is only a few months old useless, because now im going to upgrade new motherboard, cpu and a pci-e card, had enough of this pc Lol.

Thanks for the help .
