Just got back from my first ever visit to Cairo. It was just like Metal Slug except there were hawkers everywhere instead of men running around with swords original.gif

I'll post the rest of the photos tomorrow.

Great. I’d say it was easily one of the best trips we’ve had. There are lots of things to see and do and most of the natives who we met were kind-hearted and hospitable. Of course, you have to be careful not to fall victim to the hawkers because they have a way of getting you to willingly hand them your cash. It’s annoying, but I don’t blame them considering the living conditions most of them have to put up with.

The horse-back riding in the desert behind the Giza pyramids is an unforgettable experience; we went there once during daytime and then again at night, and had we stayed for another day we’d probably have done it a third time too. The Jammaliya area where the craftsmen live and work is great as is the infamous Khan El Khalili open market which feels like something out of Biblical times. Then of course you've got all the palaces, monuments and museums.

All in all, a recommended destination.

What I'll do is post the pictures here in batches starting tonight as well as on flickr.

So where in Africa did you visit?

Here are a few more...

The second one is of a place called the City of the Dead where thousands of families actually live in a cemetery.

Triple Tetris Champion!

Some very nice pictures there. It doesn't look completely different to Tunisia, which I visited a few years back.
