Do you have a user on the 98 machine?
If not, create a user on that machine then logon as that user (you don't even have to have a password, just a logon). From there, the machines should be able to access the files on each other. |

Keno (and Paul) - thanks for your response. I didn't have a User set up on the 98 PC and have done so now. Unfortunatley this has not solved the problem. However, I appreciate you taking the time to make the suggestion.

I will have to take a look at our setup at home. We have virtually the same setup as you (except the desktop is XP and the laptop is 98) so I will look into what we have done a little further and see if I can suggest some things.
In the mean time, on the Sharing tab of the directory properties, what is the Access type set to? |

No problem.
Is netbios enabled on both machines? Are the IP numbers of both machines 192.168.something.something? |
