My mom recently infested our computer with a backdoor trojan downloader called PurityScan AA. I got rid of that and the other stuff it downloaded. Since then, there has only been one problem...
LIMEWIRE WILL NOT CONNECT

I have done EVERYTHING!
  1. Went from version 4.14.7 PRO to 4.17.4 BETA
  2. Opened port 3009 on my McAfee and Linksys Wireless router firewalls
  3. Deleted all JAVA programs and reinstalled
  4. Downloaded a new GNUzilla.NET file that supposedly fixes everything from a LimeWire forum
Nothing has worked. LimeWire loads, and gets to one bar and sits there. However, when LimeWire is attempting to connect, it seems that the internet drops. FireFox, Safari, and the dreaded IE7 will not connect to anything! Not even my Yahoo! Widgets! pinch.gif It remains like this until I close LimeWire and wait about a minute or two.
My computer is going through a Linksys WRT54G wireless router but is wired.

Any and all help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks! thumbsup.gif

there is a well known issue with removing spywares and breaking certain types of internet connectivity. (so called WinSock layers!) Check these out:

I think it might relate to one of my problems that I had before...do you have Nod32 installed by any chance?
