This week's issue of Japanese game mag Famitsu reports that Irem, fresh from Disaster Report, is busy working on an update to the R-Type series of shooters called R-Type Final. R-Type Final features 3D graphics and 2D gameplay, there are over 50 kinds of planes in the game, include planes from other Irem shooting games such as Rabio Lepis, Mr. Heli and Image Fight. This new game will hit the PlayStation 2 in Japan by the end of June; no price or U.S. release was announced.
