It was nice back when I joined how much traffic there was, tried to get on and see what is up everyday, now I'm lucky to check once a week. It just seemed to slow to a halt... The latest headline is over a moth old, the newest controversial news is mine fro april, and the latest website announcement is about the arcade from JANUARY!

I am not on much either (could be more if gets more exciting), it just seemed to now almost just a support site for the zenith gallery. Any chance of it reviving back to when we all had computer troubles that we could come here for? It was a while ago but it seemed then usr.c, amir, bobhome and loads of others else had new posts or comments everyday....

Have idea's for regeneration? or should I just tuck my shirt in a drawer and forget about it?

Yeah this place has been void of life for some time now. I'll put in some extra effort starting tomorrow morning and work on getting the front page news rolling again as well as start posting in some of the other forums.

I think it might also be fun to start a thread about some topic like EJBs, design patterns, performance issues in production systems, etc., and have it in parts to encourage people to check back. Maybe you guys can do something similar for whatever technology it is you use at work.

I don't know, that's something that I thought might be interesting. Any other thoughts?

Work's been taking a lot of my time during these past 18 months. It's bittersweet because on one hand I'm learning new stuff; stuff that is serious and mission-critical and enterprisey and all that other good stuff, but on the other hand, it's a great feeling to be able to fool around with open-source projects and do things just for the fun of it without there being a PM breathing down your neck and having you work against tight deadlines!

we are all fooled by the tricks Ali is playing on us. he is making a (luxurious) living from the traffic this web site is making (due to it's quality technical content! & original entertainment/news content) & he is charging it's members high membership fees.

but why we can't see those actual users, you ask. it's simple. well, if you were a programmer then it was simple for you too. it's really a trivial task for an experienced genius like him to program any web site to look differently to different users. that's why to us, old members who actually generate the quality content, this web site looks like a bare land but to visitors, it's sth beyond entertainment & joy!

but how did you suspect that, you ask. well, look at the number of visits to each topic at the index page. the average number for this forum is 500 & for tech forums it's even more (700 may be)!

let's hope that some day, some flaw in this huge malicious complex system will reveal the true view of the real web site even for a few minutes & will put an end to this abuse of our talent...

I wish I was a Nintendo Fanboy, I haven't trained my Pokemon for days. I haven't much time to play video games and less to spend on talking to people about how Sony sucks.

I still wear my CyberiaPC T-shirt though. It covers my chest.

How about we say that Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft suck (9/10 times) ? Wii is only good if you play it with family or want to lose weight playing a 'game', Sony created a technology that they can barely utilize the potential of, and Microsoft has always been on the grudge list except for windows 2000/XP and Gears of War...

And hey, if you can't build the system you're playing on, where is the satisfaction? That is why PC Gaming is almost always better. You only need one system to play it all and the controls are standardized. But all in all, the ones who really suck are the game designers, every freaking game for the PC anymore is a quick port of the console game! Why should I have to pay full price for a half a^^ game?

Anyways, it is nice to see amir is still the same and doing better than ever.
