hey fellas it's been a while
well i just got my new video card (see title) and when i go to boot up the pc post runs fine and i get my normal, everythings ok beep. but once BIOS is finished and XP starts to load i get the BSOD and it in a nutshell says, "ACPI BIOS not compatible and some other things like go to http://www.harware-update.com (which doesn't work anymore) or hit F7 to disable ACPI. I cannot find anything on the web about this, everyone seems to be getting error while XP is running - not booting. Anyone experienced this before? I did try to disable ACPI in my BIOS but that doesnt help at all. Hi,
I am not 100% about this but did you try disabling ACPI in device manager, expand computers + it shows there. [/quote] My friend is having the same problem. There is a problem with your suggestion. If we are getting this BSOD on boot (including in safe mode) we can't get into Device Manager. My buddy changed out his power supply and got the error. Now, even if he puts the old one back in, he still gets the message. Also, if he goes into the BIOS and turns off the ACPI, his PC reboots on startup. |

Well at work we have had a lot of problems with the 8800 from different manufacturers.
The problems were a wide range of malfunctions and this cause us to send at least 5 of the cards back for warranty. So you might have a bum-card. -------------------- -Mad_cow |
