Anyone who is in need of a free web host might like to surf on over to http://www.100webspace.com/freeplan.html. You can host a domain, yourname.com for free there(of course you have to pay the registration fee for the domain...). They offer 1Gb bandwidth and 100Mb of disk space as well as php with 1 mysql database(2mb). Pop3 accounts, frontpage extensions and other goodies make it the best free host i've found. Accounts expire after one year, but you can apparently renew them for free.
I have found it perfect for my situation because I've owned ryanmorley.com for a while, but didn't have enough interest in maintaining it to pay for hosting. It's nice to have a place to dump images and things you know. If you don't have your own domain name, they give you a yourname.freeunixhost.com url. That url is also usable while your name servers propogate if you use a domain. ...just thought I'd share

yeah my friend has it too but he said it isnt that good because there are always (well often at least) downtime and their ftp sucks because it keeps asking you for a password and then you enter it but then it doesnt work or whatever... thats what he said but i am sure about the downtime thing because sometimes i go to his testing site (yes he uses it for testing before entering things on his companies site) and it says error or wahtever and later it works again..

I registered an accout there and I would have to so far mostly agree with Chc. The site i registed under the free hosting package is down a lot. At first I thought it was just me but then I was getting Icq's for other people saying that they cant access the site.

Me and a friend are looking for somewhere to host our clans website, we need php and mysql database. This looks pretty good although i'm not sure about the downtimes
