You can have an item on the cd launched automatically by creating a file called "autorun.inf" using notepad and placing it in the root directory. The contents of the text file should read:

CODE
[autorun]
open=install.exe
icon=book.ico

That will run install.exe and if the person goes to my computer, the picture of the cd drive will be book.ico instead of the usual drive with a cd on top.

This may not be useful if you aren't able to write the program to launch... If you'd like to give a few more details about what you want the window that pops up to do I might be able to help further.

Yep, that's the way to do it, but is there a restriction with that method where it only works with exe files? I vaguely remember a program 2-3 years ago that would allow non-exe files to be autorun too, but that could have been to do with something else. pinch.gif

Have a look at the attachment! It launches explorer and sends it to the drive the file is being run from... so if you run it without putting it on a dvd first it will launch C:\ but after you burn it it will launch whatever drive the DVD is in.

Let me know if you'd like me to change the cosmetics or functionality or anything...

If you wanted to send me a picture or some text or something it wouldn't be much of a task to add it... Or any other features you'd like.
