Hey everyone,
I recently bought a USB key and tried it out at school. My school's computers have something done to them which makes it so USB keys don't work. (I already knew this) However, my friend and I tried fiddling with some security settings and the like, and we found something that should have worked, but did not for some reason. I was wondering if anyone knew of a method which would enable me to temporarly enable USB keys so that I can use mine, be it some method I haven't tried or even a program that would do it for me. Thanks in advance, James |

I'm not familiar with USB keys. Is it a "dongle" or an actual keyboard?

I can't find how to edit my post so sorry for the double post.
I found that there is a program that stops the USB storage device from working. It is called Deep Freeze 5. My brother said I should try removing the network cable and then hook up the USB key to see if the program was on the network. Does anyone else have any ideas? |

Your brothers idea sounds like it would work, assuming the program is on the network. But if it isn't then your system administrator probably configured one machine and then ghosted it. Which isn't too far off. But if you changed a setting on the program that should have let your USB key work then there might be another program on the computer (or network) preventing people from changing settings.
