Hi. Does anyone know how to program in Linux and compile? Please give me the steps to compile and get the program started if you know how. Thanks.

If you're trying to compile C/C++ code, then you can use the GNU compiler (gcc), which is fast and easy to use. The manual will tell you everything you need to know about its usge. Otherwise, here's a guide I found on Google: http://users.actcom.co.il/~choo/lupg/tutor.../c-on-unix.html

If it's Java, then it's straightforward too, as long as you have the JRE and SDK (get the RPM if you're on rh) for Linux installed.
