Hey everyone,
As some of you may already know, I recently got a new labtop for christmas. I installed everything as I normally do on new computers or fresh installs. When I installed Firefox, I go to pages that would have music videos and whatnot but I would get the display bar at the top saying that there are additional plugin's needed to view the materal on the page. I find that a little funny since I have Window Media Player 10 and I also have Media Center OS. Does anyone know why this might be? I've installed WMP a few times from the MS site but still have the same issue. The OS is Microsoft Window's XP Media Center. Thanks. Ryan Hi, Have you checked to see if the plugin you need is HERE you may need flash or one of the other plugins for some of the content on the page you are at. -------------------- REGARDS

Hey bob,
I have all of those plugins already. I've installed them a few times wondering if they didn't fully install but they did. Ryan -------------------- QUOTE("Richard Hammond - Top Gear") We're gonna to die now, that's it." |

Hey bob, I have all of those plugins already. I've installed them a few times wondering if they didn't fully install but they did. Ryan I assume you are using Version 1.5 from here I cannot find anything in the tools/options for plugin search, maybe you could post your problem HERE they may know more about it. if you do get a reply from them, let us know what they told you to do. I found the following but how to do it is another thing... How do I stop Mozilla Firefox from prompting me to install a plugin? Open about:config, and set plugin.default_plugin_disabled to false. Then delete the file named npnul32.dll from your Mozilla Firefox plugins folder. You may have to enable showing hidden files to do this. Fixed. Here is what I did:
1) Go to: http://www.dlldump.com/ 2) Download the following .dll files: npdsplay.dll npwmsdrm.dll npdrmv2.dll Note: Make sure you save them into your mozilla firefox/plugins folder 3) Restarted firefox Your done. Should work. It's working for me. Hope it helps anyone else with my problem. Thanks for the help too bob. Ryan, did they mention why the regular Windows Media plugin did not do the trick?

I read that it had something to do with how the tags were setup. It said:
QUOTE If a page fails to play embedded audio but you do not get a 'Missing Plugin' alert, then it is possible that the page uses the non-standard 'bgsound' tag instead of the 'embed' tag to embed the audio file I also did some more searching on their forums and came up with the dll's to download and since then, it works fine.
