Hi

My ADSL modem which I have been using through usb for months has died, my ISP sent me a new Modem, new different model, when I installed,it will only install and work
through the Ethernet port, now heres my problem.

Ethernet cable goes to PS3
USB goes to PC

thats how i have been doing it before and now it wont work, even on its own, when i install through the step by step instructions for USB, it keeps saying " cant find gateway ". then it says i selected the wrong adsl modem etc, then when i choose the other one , it says i choose the wrong one again...and theres only 2 to select from lmao...

Whats wrong with this crap?, when i plug in the usb, the light on the modem under USB flashes, but the gateway cannot be found...

Hi,
Are you absolutely sure you can use both at once, I had a modem that would only use either usb or ethernet but not both at the same time on 2 different pcs

OK, now when you try to install and it says wrong modem, are the 2 listed the same as your modem? or is yours not listed? the reason I ask this is only a few weeks ago my grandson bought a wireless modem which he could not install, when he brought it to me to have a look at, I discovered the wrong disk had been packaged with it. when he exchanged it at pc world it installed imediately. If it is the correct disk, have you tried it in another usb port, have you turned pc off then started it with it plugged in to a different usb port so that windows will install it?

Another thing, how do they know that it is your pc at fault, it could still be a faulty new modem they have sent you.
