I actually had a bad motherboard and I contacted ASUS they swapped it out for a remanufactured mobo. I've run Spysweeper and the Trend Micro tests to make sure there is no spyware and they both came out without a problem. Any suggestions?

1. Is the northbridge KT800 or KT880 or another?
(there are still bugs with KT880) 2. Make sure your hardware is getting enough juice, I belive ASUS gives you a free hardware monitor, if you didn't get it, download it here. ASUS Probe 3. Make sure the computer is properly cooled. fans only distribute air, they do not cool it. Have a constand supply of cool air from outside the computer. 4. Make sure all the hardware is ok, if something blew up, it COULD slow down. 5. Run an equivlent of Disk Defragmentor and Scan Disk to make sure there are no software problems. 6. And if you are trying to Raid 0 or 1 them there are know software issues so read up on those. hopefully one of these may solve your problem, but there could be a long list of things that are wrong, If you can narrow it down to a few things (aka knowing for a fact it's hardware or software) would really help. Thanks Teckchris for a quick response...
1) I believe I have the KT800 though I'm not quite sure untill I crack the case open again. More to come on that... 2) What would I be looking at in the ASUS probe that would give me an indicator that the system isn't getting enough juice? I have the utility and I keep it running all the time but I usually just use it to monitor temps. 3) Currently I have 1 fan in the door blowing in, 1 on the far side blowing on my drives, a big fat 90mm in the front, a 90 in the back and the stock heat sink was replaced with the thermalright xp-90. The processor temp never rises above 45 degrees and I have done my best to make sure there is a constant flow of air. 4) I've run System Suite to check all hardware and it comes back fine. 5) Defrag and I are best friends with the current install I defragged with every program I installed 6) It's in a RAID 0 configuration and I wasn't aware that there could be issues running this. If you have any futher info on this I would like to read up on it. I'm pretty sure it's a hardware issue because when the ol' blue screen of death comes up its a fatal machine error (I'm paraphrasing I'm not sure of the exact wording). That's what leads me to believe that its hardware issue and I'm assuming that it could be the power supply because of everything that is running but I wouldn't know how to tell. |

If you belive it is hardware make sure you check your hard drives for damaged data or sectors. The problem with Raid 0 is: if you get a bad sector on one of the disks, they both become unreadable.
You also might want to try running it without the Personal Video Recorder. I have personally had problems with a TV tuner conflicting with sound and video. In ASUS probe on the Icons above the main screen, click on the voltage meter. Make sure your voltages arn't to far under what they are supposed to be (12v, 5v 3.3v and Vcore (about 1.7~1.5v), after .5v above or below, there may be problems. Another suggestion here, will u check ur event viewer for any related error logs? or possibly post a few of the most recent errors here.
