im sure most of you have hear the story of terri schindler (the person who they took the feeding tube out of). I'm just wondering what you think about this? If you havent heard the story, check out http://www.cnn.com/2005/LAW/03/26/schiavo/
personally i wouldnt like to be a vegtable but i dont think they should kill her. even if they had a very good reason to kill her they still shouldnt starve her to death. what do you think? --------------------  |

yeah my dad was talking about this, its pretty messed up that thier doing that with the medical technology growing faster and faster

i agree its kinda messed...i wouldnt want to be a vegetable either....but what i think that this case comes down to is the fact of whether or not in her will the lady said that if she was in a vegetative state to let her go...even if it was just said orally between two people...which would be kinda hard to prove...but yeah i agree...mercy killing is pretty stupid......not sure of the next point as i live in canada
 and im not sure of their financial status...but doesnt it cost lots of cash to keep a person alive in a vegetable state?(not to say that it isnt worth it...)

yea, there was really nothing modern medicine could do other then keep her physically alive, theres still nothing we can do to stimulate brain activity
the way theyr letting her die is rediculous! starve? no, i mean, cant they just completely unplug her? --------------------  |

It's a tricky situation, but it seems overly convenient to be able to decide whether she lives or dies by just turning a switch on or off.

i like how congress is debating about this instead of dealing with actual issues. what they should have done was leave it to the family, or at the very least dealing with the 300 or so other people like terri

I think that they shouldn't have let her die the way they did. I don't know if she was in pain before they took out the feeding tube, but I guessing she was in a lot of pain after they took it out. That, to me, seems very in-humane. Why didn't they find a less painful way for her to die? That's what really confuses me!

I believe giving her posion would be alot better then what they did.

but we dont know what she is taking in like what she can hear and understand what if you were laying on your bed and you heard your parents and husband say that there going to kill you, i think she could follow balloons or something with her eyes but im not completely sure
