I've never used AOL, but I think AOL and CompuServe allow Internet access only through their browsers.  However, I could be wrong.

Have you tried getting on the phone with their tech support?  Maybe there's something you need to change in your network options like your DNS server addresses.

Your in luck as I use AOL.

Right as you said you moved from your old ISP to Aol, I think when you run/open IE it tries to connect to you old ISP.

If this is a case then try the following:-

A. First goto Start, settings and click control panel.
B. Click twice on Internet Options.
C. Click on connections tab.
D. Now follow the steps in the below pic.

1a. Click on AOL
1b. Click Set default
2. Click on old ISP i.e. Breathnet and click remove.
3. Click on never dial a connection.
4. Click ok.

You should now be able to use IE to browse.

Hope this helps biggrin.gif

Thanx 2 Ali and Paul. Sorry Paul, but unfortunately your good suggestion didnt solve the problem. AOL support is useless.
all programs related with IE and IE itself just cant recognize the connection...
I was wondering Paul, if you have any of those types of programs that u might b using on Aol (like Msn/yahoo messenger/outlook express/morpheus etc..)
There must b some way they could recognise the connection??!  ???

Now I understand your problem, I think confused.gif

No.....IE, NS, Msn, yahoo messenger, outlook express, etc.. Don't reorganise AOL dialup connection. But you can still use these programs.

You must connect to AOL first!

For example, how to use Internet Explorer?

1. Open AOL by clicking on the desktop icon 'AOL Double-click to start'
2. Click connect if AOL6 or Sign On if AOL7
3. When welcome screen shows and you hear 'welcome to AOL' minimise AOL browser window by clicking [_] button on the top right hand corner of screen.
4. Lunch Internet Explorer and type in address and away you go.

Hope this is the solution.

BTW. Outlook express in not compatible with your AOL e-mail. To use Outlook express for e-mail, you need to register a new free account with MSN.

BTW2. Yes AOL support is bad and has gone downhill, but is free.tounge.gif

Thanx again Paul but i tried that the first time I got the problem...
I dont mind that i cant use IE to browse or Outlook express for e-mail because I can always use AOL for all that.
But my real problem is with my messengers and mp3... because they dont connect and i cant chat or download mp3,
I only switched to AOL to download and chat for hours in the first place!!
