Virus Protection for new notebook

I've just acquired a new Sony Vaio and wondered if there was FREE virus proctection you could recommend I download.

AVIRA premium is a very strong anti Virus for it filter a lots of virus been using it for 1 yr now. and Works fine with me. I suggest you should check it too.

I would also prefer AVIRA. It's free and regular updates are available in their site. The filter is also very effective. I used AVG free version also but that could not satisfy me. You use Avira in tensionless mind.
