Somebody has accidentally downloaded something from Yahoo on to my PC (I think it was the yahoo toolbar). I uninstalled the toolbar but am still left with a Yahoo logo in the top right corner of Internet Explorer.

Yes, I thought the solution might involve some jiggery-pokery with the registry!
 Which is why It's probably best left alone. Am I right in assuming that the logo is harmless and has no hidden purpose apart from advertisng?

Yep. I only recently signed up for cable with Comcast and to my surprise, their software plastered their company name and logo all across IE.

Have you looked in View at the top of the page then toolbars see if anything is ticked of yahoo, I have one in mine which says " yahoo companion" if I put a tick next to that I get what you have so I leave it unticked -------------------- REGARDS
