I'm looking for a laptop at the moment. I'm no expert, but there seems to be a huge difference in price between those with celeron processers and those with pentium (Around 200-300 euro difference). Is the pentium really worth the extra money. Would I be mad to buy a celeron ?

Hi jan,
The main difference is the lack of/limited L2 cache memory in Celeron processors compared to the 512KB of L2 cache in P4s, which greatly affects performance. If you're not going to be running processor-intensive processes all day on the laptop then a Celeron with a fast clock speed will probably suffice. -------------------- ![]() ![]() Things that I don't suck at: Photography (flickr, JPG Mag), "Don't bail; the best gold is at the bottom of barrels of crap!" -Randy Pausch I have people-skills goddamnit!
